Sherene R. Dorazio is the Deputy Executive Director of the Office of Construction and Facilities Management (CFM). In this role, she is the principal advisor to the Executive Director, she is responsible for providing senior leadership to the planning, design, and construction of all major construction projects greater than $20 million, the acquisition of real property for use by the Department of Veterans Affairs through the purchase of land and buildings, as well as long-term lease acquisitions. She also manages the crucial areas of facility sustainability, seismic corrections, physical security, and historic preservation of the Department’s facilities.

Prior to this appointment, Ms. Dorazio served as the Deputy Director, Facilities and Logistics for the U.S. Army Installation Management Command. In this geographically dispersed 3-Star Headquarters with worldwide mission she led infrastructure lifecycle processes for over 270,000 real property assets valued at $75 billion across 75 installations with an annual infrastructure operating budget of $6.5 billion. She also oversaw environmental compliance, logistics for thousands of base commercial equipment, and housing for soldiers and their families. In 1998, Ms. Dorazio started her civil service career with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) and served in a series of progressive technical and leadership positions managing all aspects of large inventory facility lifecycle management activities for worldwide healthcare delivery systems. She served as USACE Chief of Medical Facility Repair and Operations in the Medical Division at the U.S. Army Engineering and Support Center – Huntsville. In 2010, Ms. Dorazio transferred to the Office of the Assistant Chief of Staff for Facilities, U.S. Army Surgeon General & Medical Command Headquarters where she led several major medical facility programs prior to being promoted to Deputy Director, Facilities Engineering, responsible for over 1,000 medical, dental, veterinary and research facilities valued over $16 billion. Ms. Dorazio is a licensed professional engineer. She has been awarded three Superior Civilian Service Awards and is a member of the Order of Military Medical Merit. She and her husband First Sergeant / Senior Master Sargent Michael Dorazio, U.S. Air Force (Retired) have two children.
